MG has become the UK's 12th biggest car brand, outselling Land Rover, Skoda and Mini
The overall new-car market has dropped 12% since the beginning of the year as car makers struggled to supply demand.
MG’s apparent immunity from the shortfall in semiconductor chips suggests its parent company is prioritising sales in Europe. MG’s sales climb in 2022 has been driven by the success of the HS SUV, its best-seller, which is sold both as a petrol and a plug-in hybrid. It starts at £22,995, undercutting many rivals in the family SUV space.
