The New York Mets agreed to a minor league deal with veteran right-hander Ervin Santana on Friday, and multiple reports indicated outfielder Matt Kemp also signed a similar deal.
Santana struggled with the Chicago White Sox earlier this season, going 0-2 with a 9.45 ERA in three starts. He served up six homers in just 13 1/3 innings before being designated for assignment. Santana was an American League All-Star for the Minnesota Twins in 2017 when he went 16-8 with a 3.28 ERA and three shutouts in 33 starts.
