Temperatures will be way above the average for this time of year
We may be in October but don't put away your summer clothes just yet. Met Office forecasters are predicting this week could be the start of a spell of warm weather.
The days leading up to the weekend are also due to be on the warmer side, though forecasters predict the days will be mostly cloudy. Today, Tuesday, October 3, will see highs of 16C with sunny spells and some rain in the afternoon. In its outlook for Thursday to Saturday for the East Midlands, the Met Office says: "Cloudy, with rain and strong winds arriving later Thursday. Occasional rain for western hills, strong winds and persistent cloud Friday and Saturday. Temperatures above average throughout."
