Forecasters have put a yellow weather warning for fog in place across country
A yellow warning for fog has been put in place, from 3am on Wednesday, October 25, until 11am today. The Met Office reports the fog will be dense in places and that it is expected to lead to some disruption.
Forecasters have said that slower journey times with delays to bus and train services should be expected. The warning covers Merseyside, but also Manchester, Stoke-on-Trent, Birmingham, Peterborough, Norwich and regions in between.READ MORE: Defence case begins in Ashley Dale murder trial - live updates
Further south, areas including Brighton, Swansea, Cardiff and Exeter also have a yellow and amber weather warning in place for rain. However this warning is not expected to be issued up north. The weather forecast for Merseyside today is mostly dry but cloudy, with occasional rain through the afternoon. Into tomorrow, the outlook reads: "Thursday is likely to be unsettled with outbreaks of rain and showers. Breezy at times, and blustery in any showers and at the coasts. Slightly below average temperatures. "
Towards the weekend, there will be general unsettled weather, with showers or longer spells of rain. However at times, there might be brighter spells with temperatures a little below average.
