It is great news for anyone who has the weekend free
The Met Office has issued some yellow warnings for heavy rain this week, but says the downpour is bout to come to an end with 'very warm' weather arriving by the weekend. With low pressure sitting to the northwest of the UK and weather fronts trailing across the country there has bben a damp start to the week for many.
Afyer heavy rain and thunderstorms in parts of the UK on Monday, Tuesday will be a brighter day for everyone with a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers. The showers pushing in from the west will be most frequent in the north of the UK by afternoon and could be heavy at times. Central and southeastern areas will be drier, brighter and a bit fresher.
Met Office Deputy Chief Meteorologist, Tony Wardle, said: “Mid-week onwards will see a ridge of high pressure building across southern parts of the country bringing a settled, drier interlude here while unsettled conditions continue further north and west with more rain to come. The rain will be heavy and persistent at times and National Severe Weather warnings for rain have been issued for parts of Scotland from Wednesday through to Friday.
But as we head towards the end of the week warm or very warm air is likely to be drawn up from the south across the UK pushing temperatures well above average for the time of year, particularly for southern areas of the country, where some places may reach the mid 20's. Saturday and Sunday look set to be hot and sunny days for much of the country, with clear skies and 23C in the South East, 19C in South Wales, overcast at times but 21C in North Wales, clear and 21C in the Easdt Midlands, clear and 19C in the South West and clear hitting 22C in the North.
