Almost half of 25 to 34-year-olds said their mental health had deteriorated, researchers found, as rents rise at highest rate since 2016
Prices paid by UK renters rose by 5.3 per cent on average in the year to July, the Office for National Statistics said. Tenants are more likely to be young, with 65 per cent of renters aged between 16 and 34.
Its research also showed that 36 per cent of people aged 25 to 34 said their mental health was the worst it has ever been as a result of money worries.
