Melinda Gates is speaking candidly about the end of her marriage to Bill Gates for the first time in a new tell-all interview with Gayle King.
In a preview of the conversation that'll air onon Thursday, the philanthropist says that there wasn't a specific moment that she knew their relationship was over or that led to their divorce after all those years. King asked about20 years ago, which a spokesperson for the Microsoft co-founder confirmed in May 2021. “I certainly believe in forgiveness, so I thought we had worked through some of that,” Melinda replied. “It wasn't one moment or one specific thing that happened.
The couple first announced the end of their almost three-decade-long marriage in May of last year, releasing a joint statement on Twitter that read, “After a great deal of thought and a lot of work on our relationship, we have made the decision to end our marriage.
