The confirmed movies for the MCU’s Phase 5 are only going to make one common Phase 4 complaint about the Multiverse Saga hold more merit.
The confirmed movies set for the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Phase 5 are only going to seemingly further a complaint about the Multiverse Saga and Phase 4. After the culmination of the Infinity Saga with Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: Far From Home, many were curious about what the MCU would begin building towards next.
Phase 5’s Confirmed Movies Don’t Help Clarify The Multiverse Saga’s Story Worryingly though, it seems as though the MCU's Phase 5 will not clarify the Multiverse Saga's larger story, based on what films have been confirmed thus far. While Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania promised to fix this issue by featuring the first true introduction of the Multiverse Saga's main villain in Kang the Conqueror, the proceeding films seem to follow Phase 4's model.
MCU’s Unconfirmed Phase 6 Films Could Be Key To The Multiverse Saga’s Success All this being said, there is a way the MCU can allow Phase 5 to be as similarly self-contained as Phase 4 using Phase 6. Since Bob Iger's reinstatement as Disney CEO, there have been rumors about a potential delay to multiple Marvel films. Iger has reportedly committed to more quality over quantity, allowing each project to have more shooting time and a longer post-production process.
Only 2 Phase 5 Disney+ Shows Hint At Multiverse Tie-Ins When returning the focus to Phase 5 though - not concerning the feature films - only two confirmed Disney+ shows will have multiversal tie-ins. One of these is Loki season 2, confirmed to be released at some point in 2023 after the titular character's appearance in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania's post-credits scene. Loki season 1 first introduced Kang the Conqueror through his variant, He Who Remains.
