McDonald's is upping its prices again, including the 99p coffee Curiously
A number of menu items are getting more expensive, including the 99p coffee, which is jumping up 20p to £1.19. The fast food chain only gave the coffee price increase as an example, so shoppers will have to visit their local branch to see what other increases have been made, and these can vary by location.
McDonald’s also raised prices in July 2022 with its classic single cheeseburger going up for the first time in 14 years. The cheeseburger was increased from 99p to £1.19, with other menu items also being hiked by between 10p and 20p. McDonald’s is not alone in introducing menu price increases over the last few months. Businesses are putting the price hikes down to an increase in the cost of ingredients and running their restaurants, including higher energy bills and staff wages.
And the price of a Greggs sausage roll increased by 5p to £1.20 in January, which was the fourth time it has gone up in a little over 12 months.
