The Government says the upcoming £300 boost will be rolled out in the autumn
Millions of people across the UK are due to receive the next instalment of the cost of living payment from the Department for Work and Pensions in the coming weeks. Bank accounts will be receiving £300 as one of several separate payments being rolled out by the Government.
It is being given to people on means-tested benefits following the £301 sent out to millions in April and May earlier this year. The Government has not confirmed the exact dates for the upcoming payment, but has said it will be this autumn, Devon Live reports. Martin Lewis has predicted the payment will land in bank accounts between October and November. The final cost of living payment worth £299 will then be paid in spring 2024.Who is eligible for the cost of living payments? You may be entitled to the payments if you get any of the following benefits or tax credits on certain dates:
The payment will be made separately from your benefit payments. You will not get a payment if you are only getting New Style ESA, contributory ESA, or New Style JSA. You will not be eligible for the Cost of Living Payment if your benefit is reduced to £0 for the qualifying period. This is sometimes called a ‘nil award’.You may still be eligible for a Cost of Living Payment if your benefit is reduced to £0 and one of the following applies:
