M&S' new sustainable jeans are a must-buy for spring
The brand's Jeans Redesign range has been responsibly sourced as part of, a project created by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation and co-developed with over 80 denim experts. M&S joined the project last year and this new capsule range is the first it has created that meets the project's strict guidelines.
The capsule denim collection, which includes men's and kids' jeans, has been designed to fit into a circular economy, according to the release. This means each pair of jeans has been made to be used more, made to be made again, and made from safe and recycled or renewable materials. As well as this, the jeans maximise the use of easily recycled and renewable materials, while they're also made with organic cotton, including a minimum of 25% recycled cotton. Unnecessary components have also been removed, such as metal rivets that hamper the recycling process, meaning that when the jeans are eventually recycled more of their fabric can be successfully remade into new garments.
All this and the jeans have also been rigorously tested to make sure that they still look and feel great after 30 washes, so you should have them in your wardrobe for longer too. Frankly, we're sold. If you're looking to snap up some new jeans for spring, then this new range should be your first port of call on the high street.
