PRESIDENT Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. will not interfere in the case of former senator Leila de Lima and will let the courts decide on whether the detained lawmaker will be given a furlough, Malacañang said Tuesday.Cheloy Garafil, officer-in-charge of the Office of the Press Secretary, made the statement after the President's sister, Sen.
De Lima herself later issued a statement on that ordeal. The 63-year-old former senator was subsequently given the standard medical checkup, according to her lawyer Boni Tacardon.Tacardon said De Lima's camp is studying possible home furlough for her as suggested by Senator Marcos.If De Lima agrees, Tacardon said they will prepare and file a motion for home furlough for the former senator.
