Marcia Cross hopes her story will raise awareness for early prevention against HPV and put an end to any embarrassment surrounding anal cancer.

"I was so not thinking anything was wrong because I didn't have any symptoms," Cross recalled going into her regular gynecologist visit."She gave me an exam and came around and said, 'Well, I just want you to know, whatever it is it’s curable.

Fortunately, Cross and Mahoney are both in remission. They plan to have their 12-year-old twin daughters – Eden and Savannah – vaccinated for HPV in the coming weeks.
