The majority of refugees have escaped to Poland, Romania, Moldova, Hungary and Slovakia.
At least 162,000 of the refugees are third-country nationals, according to the International Organization for Migration .Almost 4 million refugees have fled Ukraine since the Russian invasion, according to the UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency. More than 470,000 non-Ukrainian people, “including a large number of overseas students and labor migrants,” remain in the country as well, the IOM said March 17.In what Russian President Vladimir Putin has called a"special military operation," Russian forces continue to try and push through Ukraine, as Ukrainian forces hold steady in the fight.
