Services between Manchester Oxford Road and Bolton have been delayed following reports of 'trespassers' on the line.In a statement on the Transpennine Express website, it reads: "Due to trespassers on the railway between Bolton and Manchester Oxford Road all lines are blocked.
"Train services running through these stations will be cancelled or delayed. Disruption is expected until 19:00 23/09.Northern Rail statement In an update on their website, Northern Rail said: "Due to the emergency services dealing with an incident between Salford Crescent and Bolton some lines are blocked.Train services running through these stations will be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised. Disruption is expected until 19:30 23/09.Services between Salford Crescent and Bolton are being disrupted due to the emergency services dealing with an incident.
Services from Manchester/Salford Crescent towards Bolton, are now able to run but may experience delays and short notice cancellations.Alternative travel suggestions: Customers are advised to travel on services to Wigan and change here for services towards Manchester stations.For customers on station platforms, please listen for announcements or consult Customer Information Screens for up to date train running information."
