Miles Jackson, a 27-year-old Black man, was shot and killed last April in Ohio following a struggle with police after a gun was discovered hidden in his pants.
Last August, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost announced the completion of the Ohio Bureau of Investigation's review of the incident, and forwarded the case to the Franklin County Prosecutor's office to determine whether charges should be filed against any of the officers, theEmergency services were called the morning of April 12 when a man, later identified as Jackson, was found unconscious in a parking lot near Mount Carmel St.
A few hours later, additional officers were dispatched to the hospital after Jackson was identified and the Columbusreported. A coroner's report ruled the death of Miles Jackson a homicide and that he was shot by police 20 times in a hospital in Columbus, Ohio. A struggle ensued as the officers tried to handcuff Jackson and get him to remove his hand from his pants where the gun was hidden. One officer eventually used a Taser on Jackson.
