Man United have registered their 25-man squad for the 2023/24 Premier League campaign.
Following a disastrous 2021/22 campaign, the Dutchman was handed the task of resurrecting one of the world's biggest sporting institutions. Nothing could have possibly prepared him for the challenge he was about to take on.
Though a change in ownership will be vital in making those aspirations possible, United can take comfort from the fact they have the building blocks in place to build something special over the coming years. They already have a core group of players who are capable of competing at the highest level, as well as a manager who is continuing to command more and more respect from further afield.
The same applies to fellow youngsters Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho, who are 18 and 19 years of age respectively. It doesn't, however, mean that they can't play any part in the Premier League this season. They are just as free to feature as the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford. With the pair of them already knocking on the door of the starting XI before reaching the age of 20, they will have aspirations of joining Hojlund in becoming long-term fixtures at Old Trafford. If United play their cards right in the next few transfer windows, the spine of the team could be set for years to come.
