Authorities launched the investigation after the girl’s mother reported the alleged online communications to police, according to the county prosecutor.
Hazelton Newman was arrested Tuesday after investigators served a search warrant at his Chatsworth home, according to the Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina. Newman faces charges of attempting to lure or entice a minor and endangering the welfare of a child.
Newman knew the girl was underage when he tried to lure her to a meeting in his neighborhood for sexual activity, according to authorities. He also sent her videos and photos of himself engaged in sexual acts with an unidentified individual, officials said.
