Cops have launched a probe into the incident, which saw one man taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, where his condition is unknown

Emergency services, including the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and ambulance crews, raced to junction two of the busy motorway this afternoon, near Livingston.

A man was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary to be treated but his condition is currently unknown, reports Edinburgh Live. Traffic Scotland said at the time there were delays of up to 40 minutes on the eastbound side of the carriageway. There were numerous social media reports of build-ups of traffic in the area, following the crash.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 3.55pm on Friday, April 14, police received a report of a one vehicle crash on the M8 Eastbound, just before junction 2 at Livingston, West Lothian.Top news stories today Don't miss the latest news from around Scotland and beyond - Sign up to our daily newsletter here .
