Roberto Almaguer was shot and killed on Oct. 13, defending his food truck from a robber.
KEMAH, Texas — A man wanted in California for 35 years was arrested in Galveston, according to The U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offender Task Force.
Ismael Guerra Osorio, 62, was wanted for rape, sexual assault and lewd and lascivious acts with a child. He was taken into custody at a mechanic shop in Kemah, where he was working as a mechanic. An arrest warrant was issued in February 1996 by the Huntington Park Police in California after it was reported that Osorio molested a family member for nearly four years. Detective said he was also wanted for a forcible rape in Los Angeles County in 1988.
Information led investigators to believe Osorio was living in Houston under a fake name. A lead given to USMS in the Southern District of Texas helped investigators find and arrest Osorio. He was booked into the Galveston County Jail. The Huntington Park police were notified of the arrest, the marshal’s office said.KHOU would like to send you push notifications about the latest news and weather.
