Jason Massie, 31, appeared in court today, facing charges of murder and theft
A man has appeared in court over the alleged murder of a retired GP in Forfar on Tuesday. Jason Massie, 31, of Arbroath, also faces charges of theft and having an article with a blade or point in a public place.
Police arrested Massie following the alleged incident on Tuesday and he was formally charged the following day. The 31-year-old appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court today on petition. He made no plea and was remanded in custody. Dr Yule, known as Bob, worked as a navy doctor before becoming a GP in the Angus town. Many generations were treated by him with some sharing that he had even delivered them as a baby. In recent years he had become and author, publishing several books, including sharing his story being in the Navy.
Kerry McFarlane said: "Dr Yule was such a kind man. A doctor from the times you had a family doctor who remembered you and still asked after you decades after he stopped being my doctor. Such a sad ending. RIP."
