Jamie Boulton, 54, appeared before Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Thursday charged with Garry O'Neill's murder.
Emergency services were called to a report of a man injured in a flat in Primrose Street, Leith, at around 2.30pm on Tuesday. Garry O'Neill, 59, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Jamie Boulton, 54, appeared before Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Thursday charged with Mr O'Neill's murder. Boulton, from Edinburgh, also faces two charges under the Criminal Procedure Act. He made no plea and was remanded in custody. The incident took place just 150 yards away from Leith Academy. Schoolchildren were seen walking past ambulances and police vehicles parked in the area.
