Liam Griffiths is preparing for what could be his last Christmas with his family
after being told the devastating news he has a rare type of peritoneal cancer, which starts in the lining of the abdomen. The 31-year-old was working away on oil rigs in March when the problems started.
The 31-year-old, from Teeside, said: "I took it on the chin really and I will continue to take it on the chin until I go. I'm glad it's me and no-one else. I don't have a girlfriend or kids so that's a good thing." Liam, who is too ill to work, said he has been humbled by the huge amount of money being raised, especially during the cost of living crisis and people struggling themselves with Christmas around the corner.
