Montgomery police identified the victim as Joseph Turner. He was 38 and lived in Montgomery.
Police and fire medics responded at 12:05 a.m. Thursday to Interstate 85 southbound near Taylor Road on a report of a vehicle fire, said Maj. Saba Coleman.An autopsy by the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences showed Turner had been shot, Coleman said.Anyone with information is asked to call Montgomery police at 334-625-2831, the Secret Witness at 334-625-4000, or Central Alabama Crime Stoppers at 334-215-STOP.
