Leicestershire Police has launched an investigation following the collision
A man has died following a two-vehicle collision on the A453. The incident happened on Sunday, October 1, shortly before 3.40pm on the carriageway, close to Ratcliffe on Soar.
It involved a blue Renault Kangoo and a white Scania HGV. Leicestershire Police attended the scene as well as the ambulance and fire service. The air ambulance also attended the incident. The driver of the Renault, a man in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the HGV was not injured during the collision.
Officers from Leicestershire Police's serious collision investigation unit are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances and are appealing for any witnesses who have not made themselves known so far. They are keen to speak to anyone with dash cam footage, either of the incident itself or of the vehicles beforehand.
Anyone with information is asked to report either online or via 101, quoting incident number 440 of 1 October.
