Manchester City Women will host games at the Joie Stadium after a multi-year partnership with the baby gear company that is a first for the WSL
Manchester City have agreed a new deal with Joie that will see the academy stadium carry the name of the women's team sponsor.
British baby gear company Joie came on board with the club in March, and have now signed one of the biggest sponsorship deals in the Women's Super League that will see Gareth Taylor's side play their football at the Joie Stadium. Already the only team in the WSL to play at their own stadium, City are now also the first club to agree a commercial deal for the stadium name.
Ahead of their season starting in October, the City Women squad were in attendance at the training ground on Thursday morning along with senior club and Joie executives to mark the milestone as they cut a giant orange bow wrapped around the stadium. After playing their opening match away at West Ham, their first WSL match at the Joie Stadium will be a blockbuster affair against champions Chelsea.
As well as being the biggest commercial deal for the women's team, it also represents further progress for the club more widely as another example of an existing sponsor increasing their commitment; OKX, Asahi, and Midea are among other major sponsors to renew or sign improved deals this year. City are expecting record revenues of over £700m for the 2022/23 season and this major deal will boost the next total.
“It is a further reflection of the importance, growth and commercial appeal of Manchester City Women and the wider women’s game and we are excited to work together with Joie to maximise opportunities for families at our matches.”
