A 50-year-old man has been charged with the incident on Petershill Road where police remain carrying out searches.
Emergency services were called to Petershill Road in Springburn shortly after 10am on Monday, April 17, following reports of a suspicious package in a property. Residents were evacuated by police officers.
A Royal Navy explosive ordnance disposal team from Charlie Squadron, Northern Diving Group, was dispatched to the scene to remove the item. A 50-year-old man who was arrested has now been charged in connection with the incident and is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court today, Wednesday, April 19.
Officers are carrying out further searches around the property today. It is understood that residents who were evacuated two days ago remain in temporary housing. Police Scotland said: "As a precautionary measure, further searches will be carried out today, Wednesday, 19 April 2023 and officers remain at the scene."Partial road closures remain on Petershill Road, Red Road, Oatfield Street and Dykemuir Street in the Springburn area.
