Breaking: Man arrested after police chase that led to death of Grand Prairie officer

Eventually, officers noticed the suspect vehicle had been scanned multiple times at a specific intersection and they began canvassing the neighborhood. That led them to a home in the 300 block of Hensley Drive, where a silver Chevy Malibu with no license plate was parked, the chief said.Officers ran surveillance on the home before stopping a different vehicle leaving the residence for a traffic violation.
While the warrant was being executed, Hoffman learned his home was being searched, Scesney said. He called Dallas police, identified himself as the driver in the pursuit, and told them he “preferred not to be arrested in Grand Prairie” before turning himself in at a Dallas police station, the chief said.
