BREAKING: A man has been arrested on suspicion of throwing an egg at King Charles.
Security guards led the monarch away from a crowd of people in Luton town centre after a projectile is believed to have been aimed at him.The King was pictured meeting with members of the public during a walkabout earlier today before the incident.
A suspect is currently in custody for questioning after being arrested in the St George’s Square area. Footage from the scene shows the monarch’s protection detail hurrying him away from the area but he reportedly resumed meeting members of the public shortly after.The incident happened while the monarch was meeting members of the public in Luton town centre A similar incident happened in York last month when a protester threw an egg at the monarch, narrowly missing him and Queen Camilla.
He told the Mirror the crowd around him reacted with ‘pure rage’ but he was motivated to protest against the state of the country and its ‘descent into fascism’. Mr Thelwell said he had been told he must not go within 500 metres of the monarch or carry eggs in public after his initial court appearance.
