The man a Larimer County deputy after he approached deputies armed with a knife has died, Fort Collins Police Services announced Sunday evening in a news release.
Just after 10 p.m. October 21, Larimer County deputies attempted to stop a 2005 Honda Pilot that was driving at a high rate of speed north in the 2800 block of SE Frontage Road in Johnstown. The driver fled and eluded deputies, who eventually performed a Precision Immobilization Technique maneuver at a roundabout.
The driver got out of the car and approached deputies with the knife, ignoring commands, police said.The Honda Pilot had two occupants during the incident, the man and an adult woman passenger, who was not injured. Anyone with information or who may have witnessed this incident should contact Loveland Police Detective Jenn Pfoff at 962-2225.
The Loveland Police Department is leading the investigation, and the Eighth Judicial District Critical Incident Response Team was activated to assist the investigation.
