On Thursday, a jury acquitted 52-year-old Stacey Easley of murder, the same day the jury began deliberating in the case. Easley was initially indicted in May 2023 for the shooting death of Johnny Edmondson at The Hedge Apartments in North Austin on April 18, 2023. Three days later on April 21, Austin police arrested Easley at his home in the 8800 block of Redfield Lane in connection with the shooting, charging him with first-degree murder.“Our hearts continue to break for the family of Johnny Edmondson,” Travis County District Attorney José Garza said in reaction to the verdict.
