The 52-year-old man charged with murdering a nurse and her two young children in Kettering last week has appeared in court this morning. from prison.
Forensic post-mortem examinations at Leicester Royal Infirmary found Ms Asok and her children died as a result of asphyxiation. Chelavalel appeared before Wellingborough Magistrates' Court on Monday, where he was remanded in custody and his case handed over to the crown court. At Northampton Crown Court this morning, Chelavalel was remanded back into custody. He attended the hearing via video-link wearing grey prison-issue clothes.
Police officers were called to the defendant's address on Thursday morning and found Ms Asok and her two young children with serious injuries.
