A man has been accused of beating a woman to death with a brick in southwest Houston, according to charging documents filed this week in Harris County District Court.
Charles Lamberth Jr., 40, has been charged with murder in connection with the death of Chinyere Beatrice Godson, 40, according to records. Lamberth Jr. had already been charged with aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury in connection with Godson's Dec. 12 death. Police arrested Lamberth Jr. Dec. 12 in the 7900 block of Dawnridge Drive after responding to a report of an assault, according to the Houston Police Department.
First responders arrived at the scene around 8 a.m. and found a woman with severe injuries, police said. She was transported to a hospital, where she later died. Officers arrested Lamberth Jr. at the scene and he was initially charged with assault before the murder charge was added following the woman’s death.
