A 53-year-old man drowned Tuesday afternoon while swimming at a beach in Wildwood Crest, police said. Police from the borough and members of the Wildwood Crest Rescue were called to the Syracuse Road beach around 4 p.m. for a report of a drowning and when police arrived, a beachgoer was performing CPR on a man who had been pulled from the surf when other nearby swimmers noticed he was unresponsive, according to a release from the Wildwood Crest Police Department.City of Wildwood Fire/Water Rescue
