The crash happened at about 3:40 p.m. when the 2023 Tesla they were in barreled off of San Felipe Road near Metcalf Road, south of San Jose, authorities said.
One man died and another man was hospitalized Saturday afternoon when the vehicle they were in careened off a road south of San Jose and into two trees, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened about 3:40 p.m. when the 2023 Tesla they were in barreled off of San Felipe Road near Metcalf Road, according to Ross Lee, a California Highway Patrol spokesman. The vehicle then slammed into two trees before coming to a rest. The driver, a 22-year-old man from San Jose, was thrown from the vehicle during the wreck, Lee said. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not yet been released.
