Police have locked down a part of the M8 as they deal with an ongoing incident. Officers were called to the scene at around 7.15pm this evening after being alerted to the incident on junction eight, westbound.
The road has been closed while the M73, junction two slip road has also been shut down. There is no indication as to the nature of the incident or whether there are any casualties.A statement said: "Officers from Road Police Glasgow are dealing with an incident on the M8 Motorway west at Junction 8. "We are advising drivers to please avoid this location as the westbound carriageway is currently closed at M8 Junction 8 west and closed from the M73 Junction 2 onto the M8 West."
