M&S launch brand new Percy Pig sweets that will give you butterflies
The new treats, Percy Pig™ You Give Me Butterflies is the first new version of the sweets in a year and you don't need to wait to grab yourself a bag, as they're available in-store right now for just £1.75. Although they've not been on the shelves for long, 11,000 bags have already been sold in just 24 hours.
However, you needn't worry about the popularity of the sweets, as they're set to be an M&S staple all year round, just like the OG Percy Pig sweets. The brand new version were introduced yesterday for a very heart-warming reason.According to the supermarket giant, 10 years ago, Percy Pig met the "love of his life" Penny and the pair started dating and "five happy loved filled years later, Penny put a ring on it," meaning the two got married.
M&S continue to state that after getting married, the two pigs "still give each other butterflies EVERY day" - hence the name of the new treats. According to the sellers, the sweets are their "iconic mic of foam and jelly in a mix of flavours, including our classic Percy and a new Penny lemon made with real fruit juice" and they're vegan.
When the sweets were introduced on social media, the post garnered more than 16.7k likes and 620 comments, showing just how popular Percy Pig sweets are. Some comments include: "Relationship goals" and ‘"Omg this is so adorable we absolutely love your new product and the meaning behind it."
