Love Island star and mental health campaigner AlexGeorge has called for more support for teachers
Sharing a snap of Ruth Perry, a headteacher of a primary school who took her own life while reportedly awaiting an Ofsted report, Love Island's Alex, 32, spoke of the pressures many teachers face and shared the harrowing statistic that 80% of those in the profession suffer poor mental health as a result of their job.
“The whole school approach that’s desperately needed must include the teachers too. Care for your carers. Care for your teachers. While Alex does not have children, he said he’d want his offspring “to grow up to be well-rounded, resilient and kind people”, as well as wanting their teachers to be “happy and healthy too”.
