A number of incidents were reported
Boots is planning to implement a "revolutionary" safety improvement at one of its most iconic sites after a number of lorry incidents. The Beeston-based health and beauty giant is looking to make changes to its D6 building in Thane Road because of HGV "drive off incidents" across its logistics buildings, planning documents have revealed.
Dock operations inside the former factory run 24 hours per day, split between three shifts with 14 operatives per shift. Planners explained the business decided to invest in a loading bay safety system "after a number of HGV drive off incidents" across its Thane Road base, which is now proposed to be fitted inside the historic structure. Those behind the plans said the move aimed to reduce safety risks for workers, while also possibly having an environmentally beneficial impact.
