The added cars will allow PATH to run longer, nine-car trains on the Newark-World Trade Center Line in conjunction with a project to lengthen platforms in five New Jersey stations, expected to be completed by the end of 2022. Both are part of the larger $1 billion PATH Improvement Plan announced on June 20, 2019.PATH officials authorized the new car purchases in two phases offor $22 million from Kawasaki, which built the original PA-5 cars.
The share of office employees that are fully remote dropped from 28% in April to 16% as of mid-September, the survey said. Return to office rates are predicted to increase gradually to end of 2022, with 54% of workers in the office on an average weekday by January 2023, the survey said.
