Opinion: Long Beach’s Queen Mary: Letters
Re “Port of Long Beach warned of coss linked to Queen Mary” :
It’s about time the city of Long Beach dumped the Queen Mary. The costs outweigh the benefits, if there are any. There are too many places that the millions of dollars can be spent in our city. Just check out our streets and sidewalks, homelessness, infrastructure, etc. Perhaps it should go to the voters to either keep it or spend the money once to sink it. The property surrounding the ship could be turned into a museum showcasing the ship and create a commercial venue to attract new businesses.
Reading the article about the homeless shelters that see value in making room for pets gives hope to those of us who believe pets are family members and know the emotional and physical support they often provide.
