A woman whose partner's XL bully dog attacked a four-year old boy and left him with "catastrophic" injuries has been sentenced.in August last yearThe 32-year-old was handed a nine month suspended sentence at Liverpool Crown Court.Smith previously admitted being responsible for an XL bully dog which was dangerously out of control.
The dog had pushed past Smith as the boy went into the front garden, ran out of the door and and attacked him, biting him on the face. In a statement read to the court, the boy's mother said she had been told by doctors her son could have been killed. She said: "He is just not the same child he used to be, both psychologically and physically. He cries out in his sleep, 'get the dog away from me'.
