With less than 24 hours remaining in the transfer window, Liverpool have a last chance to construct their squad for the first half of the Premier League season
Jurgen Klopp has made no secret of his dislike of the transfer window being open when the season is up and running.
Liverpool, though, have particular cause for concern given the ongoing rumoured interest from Al-Ittihad in Mohamed Salah. The Reds are adamant the player is not for sale and, as of Thursday evening, they had not yet received an official offer for the Egyptian. In terms of major incomings, the Reds will hope to push over the line the transfer of Ryan Gravenberch. Talks opened with Bayern Munich on Wednesday aimed at brokering a deal with a breakthrough being made on Thursday evening as the clubs agreed a £40m deal for the 21-year-old, consisting of around £35m as an initial fee and £5m in add-ons.
However, the recent unavailability of Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate, along with a lengthy absence for young right-back Conor Bradley, has highlighted a shortcoming Liverpool may choose to address today. There have been previous links to Perr Schuurs of Torino and Bayer Leverkusen's £60m-rated Piero Hincapie, but price and availability would be issues at this late stage.
