The road has been closed since around 5pm
We can confirm that emergency services were on Prescot Road in Fairfield following a collision this afternoon, Friday 25 August.
Just before 4.50pm we received a report of a collision involving a Black Renault Captur and a pedestrian on Prescot Road in Fairfield. The pedestrian, a man in his 60s, was taken to hospital with a serious head injury where he remains in a critical condition. A 28-year-old man from Huyton who was the driver of the car has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving and driving a vehicle whilst unfit through drugs.Prescot Road between Balmoral and Onslow Road is closed whilst police continue their investigations.
