A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for parts of Central Texas until 10 p.m. Monday. (Note: Radar has no audio.)
AUSTIN, Texas — As we finish out the holiday weekend, the chance for strong to severe storms may wash out some of your evening plans.
As of 4 p.m. a majority of Central Texas, except for Fayette County, is under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 10 p.m. Monday. Our storm outlook has also been expanded to include the Hill Country and I-35 corridor counties, with a"slight" risk for severe weather, a Level 2 out of 5. The main threats are large to very large hail, and damaging winds of 75 mph or more are possible. The tornado risk is on the lower side, but can not be ruled out completely.There have already been storms forming in the Hill Country, one of which has been issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning.
