Thousands of New Jersey homes and business have lost power due to a storm with heavy rain and strong wind gusts.
Thousands of New Jersey home and businesses were without power Thursday as a storm swept the state with heavy rain and high wind gusts expected to top 55 mph.has issued wind advisories for all 21 counties from 11 p.m. Thursday until 10 a.m. Friday.
Gusts in the five northeastern counties could reach as high as 55 mph. In the other 16 counties, wind gusts could hit up to 50 mph. As of 10:40 p.m., more than 6,500 utility customers were in the dark across the state, according to NJ Advance Media’s power outage tracker.
