As the summer approaches and more people head to the countryside on staycations, drivers are being warned
An expert is urging drivers to exercise caution around horses on the road, warning that failing to do so could lead to hefty fines. As summer approaches and more motorists plan countryside staycations, encounters with horse riders are likely to increase.
"Horses can be unpredictable, and sudden movements or noises can startle them, potentially leading to dangerous situations for the rider and the driver," reports the Express. Violating these guidelines can result in fines up to £200 and six penalty points on a driver's licence. Furthermore, the spokesperson highlighted that many insurance policies might not cover damages involving horses if the animal was startled by the driver's actions.
