Linda Evangelista opened up about the early days of her career in the new AppleTV+ docuseries, 'The Super Models.'
In the new series, which first hit the streamer on Wednesday, Evangelista opened up about everything from her iconic ‘80s haircut to a time when she almost “gave up” on modeling after feeling pressured to take nude photos at just 16 years old.“It's ironic that my parents let me go to Japan when I was 16 on a modeling contract.
“When I got to Japan, the first thing they asked me about was nude photographs and they wanted to take all my measurements, take the clothes off,” she continued. “They made a composite and it had my measurements on it and I didn't want to take my clothes off.” Linda added of the experience, “I kind of freaked out. I never should have went there by myself. I went home. I sort of gave up.”give up modeling altogether , this wasn’t the only time that she spoke about facing adversity throughout her time in the spotlight. Elsewhere in the doc, Evangelista also opened up about the infamous 2015 CoolSculpting procedure that left several parts of her body disfigured, causing her to go into hiding until just last year.
“I wish we could just really see ourselves in the mirror, non-distorted, without ever having seen ourselves with a filter or retouched,” the model shared while holding back tears after detailing the results of the procedure. “That is what has thrown me into this deep depression that I’m in. It’s like a trap, you’re trapped with yourself that you hate. It’s been years since I worked, and years of hiding.
