Applications for the Summer Cooling Subsidy, a component of the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program in Louisville, are scheduled to open on July 25 for summer 2024, according to the state’s Office of Resilience and Community Services.To qualify, applicants must be residents of Jefferson County and have a household income at or below 150% of the federal poverty guidelines.
Those eligible in the city of Louisville can expect a one-time payment ranging from $50 to $250, depending on the applicant's income and housing status.Applicants interested in LIHEAP need to provide proof of their social security number or a green card for each member of the household and proof of all household income. Louisville applicants will also need to bring their current electricity or water bill.
