Lifelong friends celebrate their 90th birthdays one month apart.
Meanwhile, Fraser and his brother John took over their family business D & J McQuiston after their father died in 1947.
He remained in the credit trade throughout his career, becoming an auditor before retiring in his late 50s.and loves helping out his wife Sheena with odd jobs around the house. Despite an incredible distance of 10,000 miles, the pair are as close as they were 87 years ago and still meet up on occasion.
They recently reunited at Gleneagles in 2019 and also made the trip to see HSOG as it is today, which ignited many fond memories of their schoolboy years.Between them, the duo have four children, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren who helped them celebrate Fraser's 90th birthday in June and Alastair's in July.
Karen McDonald, who is the director of External Relations at HSOG, said: “We love to hear news from former pupils and to learn of this decades-long friendship, despite the distance, between two members of our alumni community is truly heartwarming.
